Fall Nail Tutorial!

Hi there! My name is Bethanee & I’m somewhat new to the blogging world, so I decided what better way to introduce myself than through something I’m extremely passionate about: NAILS!
Since it’s fall, I decided to reproduce a mani I had seen in passing on IG. Granted, my skills are nowhere near what most of the bloggers I follow would produce, but I love it anyways!
Now, to start off with, I gathered all of the supplies I would need: Base Coat(I use OPI’s Nail Envy right now), a lighter shade of nail polish, preferably nude or white(I used ORLY’s Powder Puff), Top Coat(I used Seche Vite), nail polish remover(I used the ONYX moisturizing formula), paint brushes, acrylic paints(brown, red, orange & yellow) & a paint tray or something similar to one.
(Please excuse the poor lighting & quality of the pictures. It’s been super rainy & I had to use my cell to take pictures since my camera is out of commission atm!)

To kick start this fresh fall design, I applied one coat of my base polish. After letting it dry, I proceeded to put on 3 coats of my nude polish. Be sure to let each coat of polish dry completely before attempting to  add another coat.
Once my polish was completely dry, I used a brush dipped in nail polish remover to edge around my nails, taking off any excess polish on the cuticle area & sides of the nail bed. It’s fine to use a q-tip or anything you normally use to edge your nails. Once I completed this, I started the fun!
Using a thin brush dipped in brown paint, I painted a tree, devoid of any leaves, on my ring finger.
After letting it dry, I moved on to the next step. I used another small, thin brush dipped in red paint (though it is perfectly acceptable to use a dotting tool) I began to dot in various spots around the tree, thus adding the fiery red leaves of autumn! Once I finished putting them on the tree, I began putting them at the base of the tree & along the tips of my nails, attempting what should be a “scattered leaves” effect.

After cleaning my brush, I then dipped it in orange, yellow & brown, repeating the same process as the was done with the red.
As soon as the paint was dry, I slathered on my top coat, giving the nails a nice shiny quality!
As you can see, I also did my right hand, but I left out the tree. I will be the first to admit that I am not the least bit ambidextrous, so my right hand will never look as flashy as my left, hahahah.
& there you have it! A simple, yet eye catching mani perfect for the fall season!
